CURRICULUM & CURRICULUM STATEMENTS

The International Section of El Gouna School delivers the National Curriculum of England to children from KG - Year 12.
You can access the curriculum online at www.nc.uk.net/index.html (click on a subject in left side navigation column and then choose the appropriate Key Stage)

Here you will find the Programme of Study and Attainment Targets for each subject, for each Key Stage (KS)

  • KS1- Foundation 1 & 2, Years 1 & 2,
  • KS2- Years 3-6,
  • KS3- Years 7-9
  • KS4- Years 10 & 11.

Each programme of study sets out what pupils should be taught (knowledge, skills and understandings) at each stage and provides a basis for planning schemes of work (a series of lessons).

The core subjects of English and Mathematics are complimented by The National Literacy Strategy (to KS3) and The National Numeracy Strategy (to KS2). These provide an even more detailed basis for implementing the requirements of the respective programmes of study.

It is a broad, rich and balanced curriculum, which provides a programme of study for each of the following subjects offered at EGIS:

  • English

  • Design and Technology
  • Information and Communication Technology (Computers)
  • History
  • Geography
  • Art and Design
  • Music
  • Physical Education
  • Arabic
  • German and French (Years 5 & 6)

Secondary (from Years 7-12 unless stated)

  • Science- divided into Chemistry/Biology & Physics at Years 10/11 & 12
  • Design and Technology- to Year 9
  • Information and Communication Technology (Computers) to Year 11
  • History
  • Geography
  • Art and Design- Year 11
  • Music- to Year 9
  • Physical Education
  • Arabic
  • French & German

 

EGIS offers the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (I.G.C.S.E) to its Year 10 and 11 students and an AS syllabus to those in Year 12. We are an official I.G.C.S.E/AS examination centre, having been inspected by, and working under the auspices of, the British Council.
